“Away We Go”, my monthly travel column appearing in the Monterey Herald Newspaper and online at Montereyherald.com keeps me hopping around California, the United States and the world, hiking, cycling, kayaking and sampling cultural highlights while David snaps the images that bring my stories to life.
Projects in progress: We are currently hiking, writing and photographing for a project to be released in 2018. Stay tuned!
In between assignments, I pour my creative juices into non-fiction manuscripts I hope to have published in the near future. I am on an active quest to find an agent who will be enthusiastic about my style and help me connect with a publisher so I can share these true life tales with my readers.
“There’s a Coyote in my Bed” , tracks the caregiver role dogs have played in my life since childhood. The heart of the memoire is the years shared with Lobo and Shiloh, our two coyoted hybrids. I describe the challenging, humorous and sometimes heart-wrenching tales from sharing sixteen years with them as I weave my own painful personal adult trials during those years and how I grew up as they grew old. David and I re-invented our life to meet their needs in exchange for sharing an unforgettable journey as a pack, marveling at their free spirits. I drew strength and lessons from their strong survival instincts.
“Stalking the Stalker” is the spine tingling account of my friend’s struggle to disengage from a lover who wouldn’t let go as the cat and mouse game escalated dangerously, and how my loyalty, the support of her sisterhood, and David’s sleuthing legal genius backed by a knight with a private jet, set off on a relentless pursuit to trap the pursuer. The story begins with an emotionally vulnerable woman on the rebound from a neglected marriage and the predator, who uses lavish attention, gifts and Machiavellian manipulation to entrench himself in her space. His obsession and her lack of nerve for confrontation enable him to isolate her as he secures control of her mind and body, threatening to take her life if he can’t own her soul.
